By this point, Mary Kate has been with us for a little while, but we still wanted to give her the official ‘Welcome to Qualtrax’ blog post, as after all, it’s a new hire tradition at this point.
By this time, I’m sure you know the drill: Please help me in welcoming our newest Marketing Communications Specialist, Mary Kate!
Hey everyone! I’m Mary Kate Appel, and I am so excited to be joining the team as a Marketing Communications Specialist!
I discovered my passion for marketing through the opportunities provided to me by my alma mater, James Madison University (Go Dukes!), where I graduated from with a Marketing B.B.A. this May. Before starting my professional career at Qualtrax, I held internships with both a non-profit and a technology-based education company in my hometown of Sterling, Virginia. My work as a freelance photographer helped me land a job covering events and providing promotional material for JMU. Photography is a hobby that grew into a passion of mine, and I look forward to capturing more memories here in Blacksburg!
Outside of work, I can usually be found: pretending to enjoy exercising, re-organizing my entire apartment, watching New Girl on Netflix (again…), taking photographs of my favorite people and places, and spending time with my cat Ollie. After growing up in the busy suburbs of the D.C. Metro area, I’m looking forward to seeing all that beautiful southwestern Virginia has to offer!
I feel incredibly lucky to be a part of such a friendly and collaborative work environment, and can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me here at Qualtrax!
Thanks so much for helping me welcome our newest addition. Here at Qualtrax, we are very excited for all the new employees we’ve been able to add over the last few months, like Mary Kate, and are glad to see you’re excited too!
We still have a few more ‘new employee’ posts coming up, so be sure to subscribe to our blog so you don’t miss them.
