In this release, we addressed some of the largest requests we had about documentation, as well as updates to our Workflow API and adding support for both Windows Server 2016 and SQL Server 2016.*
As far as updates to documentation, you asked and we delivered: We’ve updated Track Changes support, watermarks for archived revisions, and improved PDF conversion.
Our new Track Changes functionality changes the way you update documents in Qualtrax. Track Changes is enabled automatically in any documents checked out for editing, and any changes made are available to reviewers and approvers of the document. This eliminates the need to peruse entire documents for review and approval when only small changes and updates have taken place.
This release also delivers on the number one request in our Ideas Portal, the ability to add watermarks to PDFs that have been converted, as well as previous or obsolete revisions of documents. This functionality makes it clear when a user is viewing an archived revision of a document.
We’ve also replaced our previous PDF conversion module, which removes the requirement for Microsoft Office on servers and increases our ability to work natively with Office documents.
In addition to document functionality, we’ve made new updates to our Workflow API Methods. This means that you have more options when it comes to integration, including the ability to add and delete rows in subforms and to allow workflows to be submitted on behalf of another user.
We’ve also updated the look and feel of the Email Reminder Administration page as part of our ongoing effort to update the technologies that we utilize and provide a consistent user experience.
Check out the 2017 R2 Release Notes for more information, while any customers can access the links to individual features in our Support Portal. We welcome any and all feedback you have about specific features that will help us to make our product better.
*Remember, if you aren’t using Qualtrax Hosted yet, to get these updates and any others in the future, contact our support team: firstname.lastname@example.org. Also, feel free to reach out to us there with any questions you may have.
We look forward to celebrating this release and future ones as well, as you bring us new use cases through our Ideas Portal. That way we can provide the integrations to deliver them, improving the offering as a whole to the entire customer community.
As always, thank you for your feedback!
