Software Support Technician

Qualtrax, Inc. (subsidiary of CCS-Inc.) is looking for a full-time Software Support Technician for our compliance management software product.  The selected candidate will be responsible for responding to customer requests via email, phone, or remote support. To be successful in this position, the person must have prior hands-on development experience in developing database driven applications using Microsoft web based technologies such as VB, ASP, Javascript, .NET C#.

Qualtrax was established in 1993 and serves a global customer base across many industries, such as food processing, life sciences and manufacturing.  The Qualtrax product suite offers robust document management, process automation and handheld data collection to help companies simplify compliance and maximize quality assurance.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Answering quick how to questions about the software and its abilities.
• Assisting customers with installs upgrades and activation of new modules.
• Development of custom scripts and applications to customer specifications.
• Working with the customer with HTML issues-- such as formatting custom headers and footers for documents or advising them on how to customize their front pages.
• Participating in troubleshooting permission problems.
• Research and advice on database-specific error messages.
• Initializing and running online meetings to get a first-hand look at the server setup and further diagnose issues.

Required Qualifications:

• Good Communications Skills – Spoken and written English
• Excellent demonstrated customer service skills
• Must have at least 2 years experience developing database driven web based applications
• 1 + years experience with Microsoft ASP.NET C#
• Database access (Oracle, SQL Server) experience
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills
• Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server and Microsoft client products
• Ability to balance multiple priorities

Candidate should be familiar with permissions setup on Windows-based operating systems.  Knowledge of HTML syntax a plus. 

Education/Training:  Ideal candidate will have or is working toward a 4-year degree from a university or equivalent experience and 2 years experience in coding and troubleshooting.  Class work or job experience writing code a must.  Languages and frameworks preferred are C#, C++, Java, JavaScript, PHP, Visual Basic, ASP.NET, and/or J2EE.
